How do I connect HelloForms to Slack?

In Slack, open Apps → Incoming Webhooks and add a webhook to the channel you want. Copy the https://hooks.slack.com/services/… URL and paste it below. Send a test event to confirm the channel receives it. You can do the whole thing from the form's Integrations tab — no code and no developer account required.

What do I need before I start?

You need a Slack webhook URL on hooks.slack.com. Everything else is configured in HelloForms.

What does Slack receive for each submission?

A Slack message card with one line per selected question and a link to the full response. You choose which questions are included, so fields you would rather keep private never leave HelloForms.

Is the Slack integration available on the free plan?

Yes. Delivery destinations are part of the product rather than a paid add-on, so you can connect and test one on a free form before upgrading.

What happens if a delivery to Slack fails?

Transient failures are retried automatically with exponential backoff, and every attempt is written to the delivery log with the status code and the response body the provider returned. Repeated hard failures disable the destination instead of retrying forever, and you can retry a specific submission from the response.

Where are my credentials stored?

Webhook URLs are stored server-side, are never rendered in your published form, and are shown masked in the dashboard. Delivery happens from the server, so nothing is exposed to respondents.

Can I reuse the same Slack connection on other forms?

Yes. Save it as an account-level connection once and pick it from the credentials selector when you add the destination to another form — you never re-enter the token.

Can I post to more than one Slack channel?

Yes. Add one destination per channel — each takes its own incoming-webhook URL, and each can include a different set of questions.

Do I need to install a HelloForms Slack app?

No. The message is posted through your own incoming webhook, so it appears as your workspace app and needs no admin approval of a third-party app.
