About this template

Fire routines fail quietly: the alarm is tested every Tuesday from the same call point, the extinguishers are glanced at rather than checked, and the emergency light test is recorded as a pass because nobody wrote down which fitting was dark. This form is built to prevent all three. The alarm test asks which call point was used and requires a different reference each week, records the sound level heard at the far end of the building, and captures the reset time. The extinguisher section walks each unit by location and asks for the pressure gauge state, the seal, the service label date and whether the unit is still on its bracket. Emergency lighting is recorded as a count of fittings tested and a count that failed, and any failure opens a field for the specific fitting references so the electrician knows where to go. Fire doors are checked for gaps, closers, hold-open devices and damage, and escape routes are checked for obstruction, with any obstruction requiring a note of who cleared it and when. Signage, final exit doors and the assembly point are confirmed, and the responsible person signs the record so the logbook is complete rather than notionally maintained.
