About this template

Sharing rarely fails over big things. It fails over who pays the internet bill, whose turn it is to take the bins out, and whether a partner staying four nights a week counts as living there. This form writes those answers down while everyone is still cheerful. The first page lists the household and the property, the tenancy dates, who is named on the tenancy agreement, and then splits the money: total rent and each person's share, the payment day, who collects and pays each bill, and how the deposit was funded per person. The second page covers living together — bedrooms and any shared or private storage, parking, chore rotation, quiet hours, overnight guests and how long a guest can stay, smoking and pets. The last page is the part people skip and later need: how much notice a housemate gives before leaving, how a replacement is chosen, how the deposit share is settled, and how disagreements get resolved.
